Ahh the simple binder clip may not seem like a must pack item, but trust me.
Binder clips aren’t just for paper. They are one of my essential travel items.
They take up almost no space. I have used them to close the gaps between curtains. A pants hanger with clips comes recommended by many sites, but not all hotels and definitely not all rental units have them. A hair claw clip works too!
They can close bags of chips or other foods. They are tough to break unlike chip clips, which are basically binder clips with large plastic arms.
If you don’t have a safety pin, a binder clip could hold a hem or seam together in a pinch. (I also suggest carrying a few safety pins of a couple sizes.)
They can be used as clothes pins!
I have one on my toothpaste tube, why pay for a dedicated tube squeezer?
Use as an emergency wallet or to hold backup credit cards and cash separate from your main stash just in case. Or to keep currencies separate. On my trip to Gibraltar I ended up with four different currencies, USD, GBP, Euro, Gibraltar Pound. On my current trip I started with five until I could exchange some for local currency, tho only 1 5GBP note so it doesn’t need a clip. 😉
You can clip 2 together for as a phone stand.
You can use 2 to prop up a laptop to help with airflow and prevent overheating. Which is definitely helping me right now!
