Tuz Golu is the 2nd largest lake in Turkey. It can be a day trip from Kapadokya, Ankara, or Konya. They produce 60% of all salt in Turkey here.
We were hoping for some amazing pink photos. In the right conditions and light the lake is pink and is home to 10,000 pairs of nesting flamingos.
We got some interesting photos of the lake and the salt!
The cafe and giftshop has some good products and I got a free magnet for my collection.

When the panorama is too big for one photo!
Just a few of the pics from wandering up, down, in, out, and around Devrent Imagination Valley. I saw rocks that looked like lizards,a bunny, a pair of chickens, and a hedgehog talking to a monkey! Oh and lots of cool fairy chimneys plus a tortoise. No two hikes are ever the same. And we all blazed our own paths at different times.
TIP: Cross the road from the tea and snack shack, then hike up the hills. When you get to the top, follow the dirt road through the cherry orchard and then go down that valley. It is definitely the road less traveled by, so watch for sharp prickers and stickers.

Sometimes a missed turn takes you exactly where you need to be. (Even if that turn takes you down a winding dirt road in the middle of nowhere.)
Uchisar Castle was carved out of this 60 meter hill and up to 1000 people lived there in the 7th century CE.
I'm not sure I would have enjoyed living with "the Flintstones" but visiting is great!
Spectacular views in all directions.

Across the courtyard from the underground city is a "new" church built in the 1850s. It is currently closed but even walking around the outside was cool. A local man demonstrated the stone pillar rotates. I tried it and need to hit the gym a few hundred times, then maybe I could move it too!

The entrance to Gulek Castle leads to the Armenian ruins on the mesa. It was built in the 12-13th centuries. Gorgeous views from all points.

Just a herd of wild (possibly) horses leading us up to Gulek Castle.
Do you recognize this bridge? It's the one Moneypenny "Took the shot" in Skyfall. π

A hike thru Kapikaya Canyon is a much better way to get my Saturday 10 miles in. We even spotted this waterfall on our way!

Freezing cold mornings bring crystal clear skies and gorgeous mountain views.
When a thunderstorm leaves some hail, the only logical thing to do is make a mini snowman! And then put it strategically in front of your palm tree. π

Close up of wild poppies. Spring is coming!
A bit of a climb/scramble to explore the ruins of Yilankale, but worth it. If you time it right, you have the whole place to yourself. π

#fbf I always look for an original painting when I travel. This one i picked up in San Diego, CA. Until I can travel again, I can stare at the moonlit waves and dream.
