Traditional Bedouin Barbeque. Yummy carrots and potatoes on the top layer, chicken on the middle layer, and lamb on the bottom. I'm glad I didn't skip dinner! I sped up the video, hope you enjoy.

The Temple of Seti I in Abydos is now off the beaten path down a VERY bumpy road but reachable on a day trip from Luxor. Go early and have the temple all to yourself. Side note: I first learned of Abydos from the movie Stargate, then the show Stargate SG-1. ☺️ I think one of the most significant things in the temple is the Abydos Cartouche List of Pharoahs is an ancient record of 76 pharaohs from early Egyptian history, beginning with Menes and ending with Seti I. It is carved onto a wall in the Temple of Seti I at Abydos, Egypt. The first 2 rows list the pharoah cartouches in chronological order. The third row repeats the throne name and birth name of the reigning pharaoh, Seti I over and over. (A tiny bit egotistical. 🤏🏻) The list intentionally leaves out pharoahs the 19th Dynasty considered illegitimate, heretical, or politically disruptive: Hatshepsut, Akhenaten, Smenkhkare, *Tutankhamun*, Ay, the Hyksos rulers, and the ephemeral kings of the 9th, 10th, and entire 2nd Intermediate Period. It might be some of the earliest examples of revisionist history.

I saw a photo of Saturnia Terme, Italy and immediately added it to my list. The more places I go, the more places I add to my list! It is free to visit! (You do have to pay to park.) If you go in July (like I did), the water temp is almost the same as the air temp so it didn't seem hot. TIPS: -Do bring or wear watershoes or hiking sandals to walk down to the river to get this view of the travertines. -Go early in the morning to avoid crowds. -Use a waterproof phone pouch to protect it. -ENJOY!

Everyone knows octopus are master of disguise, but so are frogfish. Can you spot the frogfish in the pic?? Hint- Look for the toes. It makes me wonder how many other cool things I swam right past while diving...

The Wadi Rum train is an authentic, Hejaz Railway steam locomotive built between 1900 and 1908. You can take a ride as a historical reenactment ride called "Journey Through 1916", recreating part of the Great Arab Revolt ambush (including Lawrence of Arabia) complete with Ottoman soldiers and Arab fighters using horses, camels, antique cars, and a tank! If you book as part of a Jordan Pass, the ride train is free!

One of the amazing things about being a global wanderer is living like a local. I had a basic dental cleaning for 15JD ($21). Across from the dental clinic was a salon where I got eyebrow & lip wax/thread for 20JD ($28). The facial mask was included. Both were walk-in, no appointment necessary. It probably helped it was on a Monday starting at 10am. #winning
