Assimilating in Jordan. Peanut butter, labneh, and pistachio cream (kinda like Nutella but with pistachio) By itself the pistachio would be way too sweet, even for me, but the labneh balances it nicely. 😋

I am relieved to share #Meta's attempt to allow AI to use Instagram photos to create deepfakes has been halted. Public outrage and comments blocked this shocking exploitation. I urge everyone to review their Instagram settings and consider turning off sharing and downloading of images and videos. This may not prevent all bad actors from misusing your content but it will make it harder. I spend time and energy to create beautiful, funny, or awe inspiring content and don't want some AI bot to use my efforts. Also please note posting a simple I do not consent statement is not legally binding and does not override the Terms of Service, those excessively wordy screens almost no one reads before clicking ok to continue using an online service, app, or website.

I think there's a bit of archeologist in all of us. I have seen The Mummy and Indiana Jones and I can only dream of the wonder Howard Carter's team must have felt when they opened Tutanhkamun's tomb. Seeing the artifacts gives me a tiny sense of that wonder. This video shows the outermost shrine which housed the inner coffins of King Tut's sarcaphogus.

Collection of gold statues of the Egytian gods and goddesses buried with King Tutanhkamun. Now housed in the Tut Wing at the GEM. I have been considering a gimbel to stabilize my videos and seeing this is tipping the scales to research some options.

I prefer diving from liveaboard also know as live-on-board (LOB) dive trips. Small ships built for 14-30 divers who stay on the boat for 4-14 days depending on the boat and itinerary. Dive, eat, sleep, repeat is the plan for liveabaords. There are so many advantages to LOBs. 1. You stay on the boat. No carrying gear back and forth to your hotel or car every day. 2. You set up your gear one time. Crew refills your tank in place, including NITROX if the boat has it. 3. Liveaboards can go to small sites far from ports because they dont have to return to the marina every day. 4. A chance to meet new dive buddies from around the world. 5. You might be able to take a dive course on the boat. NITROX is a common course for liveaboards. (I did mine from a LOB in Thailand.) 6. When you consider costs of diving, equipment rental, hotel, and good, LOBs can be surprisingly affordable. 7. You don't have to dive every dive. But you could dive 1-5 dives a day depending on the boat. Have you tried #liveaboard?

I have slept in tents, on floors of airports, in chairs, in cars, on planes, on trains, on sofas, on soft, squishy beds, on super firm mattresses and more. I have had thin pillows, memory foam pillows, travel pillows, goose down pillows, folded up jacket pillows, and no pillows. But this ancient bed with headrest gives me a crick in the neck just looking at it. The idea was to allow airflow and cool breezes under the neck and to protect wigs and elaborate hairstyles. I am going to stick with a solid memory foam pillow (fewer dust mites) and a high pony tail for my hair. And I certainly don't sleep in one position on my back all night long! It may sound spoiled to travel with my own pillow, but dust mite allergies are no fun. And putting my face on something that I'm allergic to is something I can avoid. If I am really strapped for space (carry-on only trip) I'll bring a dust mite protective pillow case to help ease the symptoms.
